‘I’m still on cloud nine’: Maine Mendoza, Arjo Atayde share more details about engagement


MANILA, Philippines – A month after their engagement, celebrity couple Maine Mendoza and Arjo Atayde opened up about how the proposal happened. 



“Been a month and it still feels surreal. Me and you, what a feeling,” Maine wrote on Sunday, August 28, alongside a five-minute video of clips from the proposal. 


Arjo disclosed that he was supposed to propose earlier, but a problem came up and he had to postpone his plan. “It was definitely something we really had to consider because it involved the family,” he said.

 Arjo Atayde has admitted that he had been planning to propose to his girlfriend, actress Maine Mendoza, for over a year before he finally did so last month. Rep. Arjo Atayde rushes in aid of QC fire victims

 Quezon City District 1 (QCD1) Representative Arjo Atayde along with the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) and Quezon City Mayor Joy Belmonte, lent much-needed aid to the victims of a recent fire in 224 Don Manuel, Barangay Balingasa.  The fire was caused by faulty electrical wiring and it quicky spread, incinerating the homes of almost 700 families last Sept. 8. True to his Aksyon Agad moniker, Atayde rushed to the site to assess the damage and provide help to the unfortunate residents there. For the very first time in the district, assistance was expeditiously distributed the following day on Sept. 9 through the help of DSWD.  “It only took one phone call for DSWD Secretary Erwin Tulfo to respond,” says Atayde. “President Bongbong Marcos have chosen an action man to head DSWD and we at the district could not thank him enough for his quick response.” DSWD donated 5,000 pesos in cash assistance as with relief boxes for each family while Atayde is current...
